Moving Image Evaluation

1.In What ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My product emulates particular codes and conventions that are specific to film making and a specific film genre (drama) ways I achieved this included the specific camera angles such as the one of which follows the character over the shoulder, this is a direct attempt to try and make the viewer feel more involved in the video and add a layer of realism. Another convention we emulated as a conscious attempt to contribute to the videos continuity would include the transitions throughout which we took note of the shot reverse shot and the 180° rule filming techniques.

2.Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my media product will mainly be the other students in my class, as my product is only a preliminary task, out aim was simply to follow specific conventions of moving products as practice to aid us with our coursework. The product will be viewed by other students so they can improve their own work. The project lacked many conventions such as: narrative structure; plot; enigma codes etc. (other conventions of film).

3.How did you attract/ address your audience?
I attracted my audience by creating a scene that was directly related to situations that the viewer (target audience) can relate to, in this case 'a job interview'. This is a conscious attempt to involve the viewer in the video, adding perspective to the mix.

4. What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I gained skills in using the program 'final cut pro', giving me the opportunity to give me the basic operational functions of the program and how to add some basic effects and transitions so I could produce the post-production element of my project. I also learned how to upload videos to youtube and how to embed them into my blog.
